When is the best time to visit?
- The best times to visit Gold Reef City are in the low seasons, from March to May and September to November.
- Peak times, during the school holidays, can be crowded.
- You can take the Gautrain to visit Gold Reef City or a taxi or shuttle from your hotel.
- Alternatively, you can self-drive or hire a car.
- Different ticket classes are available for all rides, non-rider access, child-riders, pensioners, students and families.
- If it’s your birthday, entrance is free!
- Credit cards are accepted, and ATMs are available throughout the theme park.
- Familiarise yourself with Gold Reef City’s safety rules.
- Nurses are on duty during park operating hours.
- You are not permitted to bring your own food and beverages into the Park.
- Smoking is permitted in designated areas only.
- Be safety conscious: don’t display cash or valuables. Leave jewellery and expensive watches at home.
What must I pack?
- Lightweight clothing for summer, layers for winter as it’s often warm during the day, and a rain jacket for those afternoon thundershowers.
