When is the best time to visit?
- There are Disneyland Paris attractions, shows and parades open all year round.
- If you want to visit when there are fewer crowds (meaning shorter waiting times at rides and attractions), stay mid-week from mid-January through mid-March, or mid-April through mid-May. During these times, however, there may be fewer scheduled shows and events.
- If you want to visit when there are extended hours and more scheduled shows and events, plan your stay for weekends during the summer months (June through August). However, during these times, the parks can become crowded.

- You will fly to Paris from South Africa. The flight duration from Johannesburg to Paris: 10 hours, 55 minutes.
- The Disneyland Paris Magical Shuttle airport bus takes you from the Paris airports straight to the heart of the magic.
- The Parks are only a 35 minute trip on the RER train to Marne-la-Vallée train station, situated just a 2-minute walk from the station to the Disney Parks.
- South African passport holders require a Schengen visa to enter France.
- Passports should be valid for at least 3 months after travel and have blank pages.
- France is on Central European Time, 1 hour behind South Africa during the winter (November to March) and the same time as South Africa in the summer months (last Sunday in March to last Saturday in October).
- The official currency is the Euro (€ or EUR).
- Credit cards are widely accepted, and ATMs can be found in several locations in Disneyland Paris
- Tipping is not expected. Service charges are included, but you can leave a tip if you feel you have received excellent service.
- French is the official language of France, but English is widely spoken throughout the Parks.
- Tap water is safe to drink in Disneyland Paris, with water fountains available throughout the Parks.
- Vaccinations are not currently required but do check with your travel clinic before you go.
- Disneyland Paris Parks are non-smoking, except for designated outdoor areas specially created and equipped for smokers. This rule also applies to electronic cigarettes.
What must I pack?
- Depending on when you visit, lightweight clothing for summer, warm layers for winter.
- Proper dress is required at all times, and top and bottom garments, as well as footwear, are to be worn.
- Special Events may have specific guidelines.
- Comfortable walking shoes.
- Sunscreen, lip balm, hat, insect repellent and sunglasses for summer holidays.
- Mini first aid kit and regular prescription medication.
- Hand sanitizer.
- Camera.
- Travel adaptor. The Europlug is a flat, two-pole, round-pin domestic AC power plug, rated for voltages up to 250 V and currents up to 2.5 A.
- Pushchairs can be rented for a fee at the Stroller/Pushchair and Wheelchair Rental shop located at Town Square Terrace, near the Disneyland Park entrance and at Studio Services at the Walt Disney Studios Park entrance.
Getting around
- There is a free Disneyland Paris shuttle service that travels between all Disney Hotels and Disney Parks (06:30 – 23:00, and which leaves every 12 minutes.
- You can purchase a Disney FASTPASS which cuts down queue times at some of the most popular attractions.
What can I do to be a responsible traveller?
- Acquaint yourself with the Disneyland Paris rules and regulations.
- Avoid single-use plastic; instead, take fabric shopping bags with you and use refillable water bottles (when local drinking water is available).
- Respect other guests’ cultures and customs and avoid imposing your beliefs.
Safety tips
- Be safety conscious: don’t display cash or valuables. Leave jewellry and expensive watches at home.
- Keep your belongings safe – use the hotel safe for passports and valuables.
