When is the best time to visit?

Mpumalanga is a year-round destination.
In summer, the bush is beautifully lush and green.
Winter is best for game viewing, as it is easier to spot wildlife in the sparse bush.

Getting there

You can drive from Johannesburg to Nelspruit in under 5 hours. A self-drive holiday is an ideal option as you will do a lot of sightseeing.  
You can also fly to Nelspruit in Mpumalanga and hire a car from there, or directly into Skukuza airport if you are staying at one of the Private Game Lodges as many of these have their own landing strips.
Flight duration from Johannesburg to Nelspruit: 45 minutes.   
Flight duration from Cape Town to Nelspruit: 2 hours, 35 minutes.
