Not only is it ecologically diverse with a staggering array of wildlife, but it is also named for an ancient volcanic crater. Whether you’re on a romantic bush break or family safari holiday, you will love Pilanesberg holidays – the perfect excuse to leave the city lights behind.
The best place to spot a wide variety of animals is around the Mankwe Dam, which is also the most scenic area within the park. Bring your binoculars and long camera lenses for shots of water-buck, wildebeest, zebra and impala grazing around the dam. Or, slip into the hide at the water’s edge to view fish eagles, kingfishers and cormorants circling the dam, within whisper distance!
