A successful, socially distanced guided journey to see the West Coast flowers
Our friends and partners over at Cullinan Guided Journeys recently ran their first day trip since March of this year, and what a success it was!
If you’re thinking about embarking on a guided tour but are unsure of what safety protocols are in place, then this wonderful feedback will give you some insight on how our South African operators are well equipped and ready for you!
We were absolutely delighted to operate our first Cullinan Guided Journeys day tour this past weekend, after five months of Lockdown. A small party of friends joined our Full Day West Coast Flower Tour that includes a visit to the Postberg Nature Reserve, where the wild flowers are a feast for one’s senses and a magnificent example of the beauty that South Africa has to offer, not just for international tourists, but our local residents too!
What made this tour very special, is not only is it our first guided day tour since March, but the lead traveller of the party falls into a high-risk group, being in her late sixties and asthmatic.
She was keen to see the spring flowers after being confined for five months, but extremely nervous to travel with strangers and had concerns about visiting restaurants whilst on tour, given her health condition.
We were able to offer solutions for her every concern and most importantly, our tour guide was meticulous in following the prescribed safety protocols throughout the course of the day.
It made for a most enjoyable and memorable day, with our tour guide, Gasant ‘Super’ Jacobs, being thrilled to once again share his vast knowledge of wild flowers and tales of the region with guests.
