Legendary Inca Trail - 8 days/7 nights
DAY 1 ARRIVAL TO CUSCO - SACRED VALLEY
A transportation service, accompanied by a guide, picks you up from the airport at the scheduled time to transfer you to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. Upon arrival at the hotel, you are assisted at check-in and accommodation. Overnight at the selected hotel in Sacred Valley.
DAY 2 SACRED VALLEY
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you have the day off to acclimatize and enjoy the Sacred Valley. You can also take one of the different tours and optional activities of your choice. Overnight at the selected hotel in Sacred Valley on bed and breakfast basis. Optional activity: Sacred Valley Tour.
DAY 3 SACRED - PISACUCHO, OLLANTAYTAMBO AND WAYLLABAMBA (12.5km - 5-6 hours)
Breakfast in the hotel. You are picked up in the morning from your hotel in the Sacred Valley and taken to Piscacucho (Km.82), which is the start point of the Inca Trail. A stop is made in Ollantaytambo Town for 15 to 20 minutes. Once we reach Piscacucho, the hike begins until reaching a nice and quiet campsite near Wayllabamba where you stay. Lunch is served on the way. This day we hike 5 - 6 hours (7.7miles/12.5km). Dinner and overnight at camp. Overnight at camp site on a full board basis.
DAY 4 SACRED VALLEY- WARMI WANUSCA AND PACAYMAYO (12km - 6 to 7 hours)
After having breakfast, the most challenging part of the trek begins, which consists of an abrupt and steep ascent toward the highest pass on the trail known as Warmiwanusca (4,200m / 13,776ft). Then we begin the descent to our second campsite in Pacaymayo, where we will have lunch and dinner. This day we hike for 6 - 7 hours (7.2 miles/11.6km). Overnight at camp site on a full board basis.
DAY 5 SACRED VALLEY - RUNKURAKAY, CHAQUICOCHA AND WINAYHUAYNA (16km - 8 to 9 hours)
This is the longest day of the trek as we walk 8 to 9 hours, but also the most impressive and interesting, due to the number of archaeological sites and to the lush cloud forest area, rich in Andean flora and fauna along the way. From Pacaymayo we climb to Runquracay Pass, and then descend to our lunch stop at Chaquicocha. Then the hike continues up an easy climb, until we reach Phuyupatamarca Pass (3,700m / 12,073ft), walk on through the cloud forest until the final campsite at Wiñayhuayna (8,792ft), where dinner is served. This day entails 8 to 9 hours and 10 miles of hiking. Overnight at camp site on a full board basis.
DAY 6 WINAYHUAYNA -MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO
After an early breakfast, we depart from the campsite in order to arrive before sunrise to Inti Punku (Sun Gate); entrance gate to Machu Picchu. From here, you experience the first extraordinary view of Machu Picchu at dawn and then descend to the citadel. Walk on to this iconic ancient citadel, where your guide leads a 2-hour tour, and then enjoy some time to explore it on your own. After visiting Machu Picchu, take the bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch in Café Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo, and then take a train ride back to Cusco in the evening. Overnight at the selected hotel in Cusco on bed and breakfast basis. Lunch included.
DAY 7 CUSCO
Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure. You can also take one of the different tours and optional activities of your choice. Overnight at selected Hotel in Cusco. Including breakfast. Optional activity: City Tour
DAY 8 | DEPARTURE CUSCO
Breakfast at the hotel. A transportation service and guide picks you up from your hotel at the established time and transfer you to the airport. Breakfast included.
