Days 1-4 Malaga (Four nights stay)
Arrival and rent car at Malaga airport. Discovering Malaga - four nights will be spent at NH Malaga hotel.
Discover Malaga, known as the capital of Costa del Sol, Malaga is the major coastal city of Andalucía. Founded by the Phoenicians more than 3000 years ago and later conquered by Carthaginians, Romans, Visigoths and Moors. Malaga has a colourful history which is well preserved in its monuments and remains around town. Today Malaga is a cosmopolitan city, which apart from the tourist industry, has Spains second largest port and third largest international airport.
Most experts on food from Malaga mention the simple ingredients, the variety of rich dishes and their delectable flavours. All these features are merely the result of preparing the citys wide range of dishes by using the best natural products in the best way. The cuisine, by the way, perfectly embodies the Mediterranean diet, as can easily be seen in its patently healthy qualities.
Days 5-7 Sevilla (Two nights stay)
Depart from Malaga. Driving distance from Malaga to Sevilla: 2 hours 15 minutes (206 km). Two nights will be spent at Hesperia Sevilla hotel.
Plaza de Espana, Cathedral Santa Maria de la Sede and adjoining Maria Luisa Park are among the most pleasant spaces in Sevilla. Nearby is Sevillas old Jewish quarter, the district of Santa Cruz with its narrow white alleys and flowered patios. In the 21 century metropole parasol, also known as Las Setas, was launched to cheer up the dead spot between more popular tourist destinations in the city. Do not forget to visit the typical Andalusian folk music, the traditional flamenco.
Typical desserts from Sevilla include perinos, a honey-coated sweet fritter, torrijas, fried slices of bread with honey, roscos fritos, deep-fried sugar-coated ring doughnuts and tortas de aceite, a thin sugar-coated cake made with olive oil. Bitter Sevilla oranges grow on trees lining the city streets, which gives the city its true image. The flowers of the tree are a source of neroli oil, commonly used in perfumery and skin lotions.
Days 7-9 Madrid (Two nights stay)
Depart from Sevilla. Driving distance from Sevilla to Madrid: 5 hours 25 minutes (528 km). Two nights will be spent at NH Zurbano hotel
The architecture of the city, like Puerta de Alcala, Cibeles, Puerta Del Sol, Prado Museum, Plaza Mayor, Calle Atocha, Reina Sofia Museum, Atocha main railway station, Banco de Espana and Paseo de la Castellana are definitely worth the visit. Moreover football plays an important role in the city: visit high quality football of the two main teams: Real Madrid in Santiago Bernabeu stadium or Atletico Madrid in Vincente Calderon stadium.
The San Miguel market could be defined as the temple of gastronomy. It is home to 33 stalls selling mouth-watering products and selected ingredients to take home or to consume right there in the premises. Next to all the abundance of the typical Spanish bars and restaurant, San Gines is a must for tasting churros, prepared in Spanish style - deep fried and served with thick hot dark chocolate.
