Spend your days exploring the inter-tidal ecosystem on interpretive marine walks led by expert guides or delve deep into the endemic fynbos vegetation that carpets the coastal dunes. Discover the rich archaeological heritage of the De Hoop coastline with evidence emerging that the area was crucial in human evolution.
The reserve is a hotspot for birding, with a mix of coastal, fynbos and migratory species on offer. There is also the rare opportunity to view endangered Cape vultures at the Potberg breeding site close to the lodge. In winter, De Hoop offers some of the world'ss best land-based whale-watching.
