The main holiday season is, naturally, summer, which typically begins on Memorial Day (the last Monday in May) and ends on Labour Day (the first Monday in September). Spring is typically March to May with Fall usually from September to November and often the best travel times. Spring in parts of the Rockies and Sierras may not arrive till June. Winter generally falls between December and February.
