​Panama, South & Central America offer a range of cruise destinations. The Panama Canal is a man-made marvel which cruise ships transit during the day so you can enjoy the spectacle.
Cruise Types
South American Cruises include routes around Cape Horn and the Strait of Magellan or east coast itineraries between Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. These cruises are usually 12 nights or longer, sailing between December and March and often include visits to the Antarctic where passengers enjoy the scenery from onboard.

A number of cruise lines run a series of cruises through the Panama Canal which vary from 7 night cruises up to the more traditional 14 night cruises that sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to the west coast.
Best Time to Cruise
Major cruise lines visit the South American between September and March. Cruises around Cape Horn take place from January - March. Speciality cruises operate year round. Most cruises sail Central America and Panama in the northern winter months from October to April.
