Coffee Bay, Hole in the Wall - South African Beaches

Hole in the Wall, Coffee Bay  
This secluded area is surrounded by vast stretches of unspoiled coastline. Hole in the Wall beach is situated in the idyllic village of Coffee Bay in the Eastern Cape. 
The pebbled beach is an epic surf spot, and its remoteness lends itself to not just tranquility, but bird watching, nature walks, hiking trails and great fishing spots.  

Diaz Beach, Cape Town
The Cape Point Nature Reserve boasts several unspoilt secret beaches, including Diaz Beach - a sprawling stretch of white sand with turquoise water. 
This pretty-as-a-picture spot is a 20-minute walk from main roads and is an ideal and secluded surfing haven for enthusiasts.  

Preekstoel Beach, West Coast 
Preekstoel means “preaching pulpit”, and this rock formation located near Stilbaai in the Western Cape overlooks the 25-km stretch of turquoise water which some locals consider to be a little slice of “paradise”. 
It also boasts a rusted shipwreck and is known for its rich selection of wildflowers – year-round.

 

Penguins on Boulders Beach - Cape Town

African Penguins used to be known as jackass penguins because of their distinctive braying, and they’re the only penguins found on the African continent. Boulders Beachnear Simon’s Town has the ancient granite boulders which protects it from the wind and large waves, making it an ideal swimming spot for kids as they can swim in the stunning rock pools.  

The beach is clean and safe, because it falls under the Table Mountain National Park Marine Protected Area. But the soft white sand and clear waters are not the only reasons why this is such a special spot to visit but it is home to our African penguins in their thousands, and this is an opportunity of a life time to be able to see them in such close proximity. 

Robberg Beach, Plettenberg Bay  
Grab a deck chair and umbrella from the rental stand and set up your spot on the stunning white sands of Robberg Beach. 

You can walk for kilometres along this long stretch between the Robberg Peninsula and Beacon Island which is ideal if you are looking for a bit of exercise. Stroll along the boardwalk and decks and take in the breath-taking views of the majestic mountains and magnificent ocean.  
A true sense of relaxation is felt when you are here. If you are itching to see dolphins and whales, well when in season then Robberg Beach is a must, as it is very a popular place for sightings of these graceful creatures.  

Gonubie Beach, Eastern Cape 
Gonubie beach which is located at the mouth of the Gonubie River does not only have a wonderful boardwalk that provides fantastic views across the sea, but the river mouth provides hours of beachcombing, man-made tidal pools and an abundant vegetation. 

This beach is the perfect spot to explore as a family, a couple or even a single traveller who wants to experience a real hidden gem in South Africa
