Thompsons always offers lots of great specials at holiday time. Here is our list of the top 3 destinations to visit when school’s out
Family travel is very much on trend this year, and beach resorts around the world are ideal locations for parents and their kids (and even grandparents) to have a memorable experience. Thompsons suggests visiting the Indian Ocean Islands of Zanzibar and Mauritius, travelling further afield to Thailand or going local – to Plett, Durban or the Garden Route. Let’s take a look at these options…
Mauritius and Zanzibar are both good ideas all year-round, and with the stunning selection of resorts available, you’re guaranteed a value-for-money family holiday and good beach weather. Whilst Mauritius is more sophisticated and the resorts offer numerous sports and entertainment facilities, Zanzibar offers an unspoilt beach experience (this is where Thompsons’ Sales & Marketing Manager, Angela Wood, plans to take her kids this July).
Ever affordable, Thailand is a far-flung destination offering an unforgettable Asian experience, excellent beaches and resorts, and stunning shopping. A holiday here is all about experiencing a new culture – and the friendly, welcoming Thai people make this a pleasure. Aside from the food and the traditions, there’s the sun, the sea and the sand. Kids love it here as much as their parents because it’s a novelty, the beaches are great and it’s good value for money.
Local is always lekker, prices are competitive, and it’s not too far from home. The sun is always shining on the KwaZulu-Natal coastline, making both North and South of Durban, as well as Durban itself, a great, reasonably priced option for soaking up the sun.
