Vietnam & Cambodia Classic Tour (11 Nights/12 Days)

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival (Flight to be advised later/own tickets)
Transfer from the airport to your hotel.
Meals: None
Accommodation: In Hanoi

Day 2: Hanoi
Start the tour at the historic Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, an imposing monument lavishly built using marble and granite, and where the preserved body of Uncle Ho resides. (Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed every Monday & Friday, all afternoons and from early September until mid November). Wind your way afterwards to the Temple of Literature, for an overview about Hanoian culture and appreciation for ancient Vietnamese architecture. In the afternoon, visit the serene Museum of Ethnology, a 20 minutes' drive out of town (Museum of Ethnology is closed on Mondays). Drive back to central Hanoi for a walking tour through the Old Quarter to enjoy the bustling local life, then cap off the day with a show at the water puppet.

Day 3: Hanoi - Halong
Depart for a 3.5 hours journey to Halong Bay stopping for a break at Dai Viet Center. Then enjoy a fresh lunch while cruising through Bai Tu Long Bay and into Ha Long Bay. Visit Vung Ha beach for kayaking, swimming, and relaxing in one of the Bay's hidden coves in the afternoon. Relax back at the boat as we cruise into the secluded Dong Tien Lake where the boat will anchor overnight. Notice: Please note the Cruise Itinerary may be subject to change without prior notice.

Day 4: Halong - Hanoi - Danang - Hoi An (Flight HAN/DAD VN175/1810-1925)
Rise early for morning Tai Chi on the sundeck & enjoy a light breakfast while cruising to Sung Sot area. Return to the boat for check out & enjoy the last of the Ha Long Bay scenery over. Arrive at the jetty around noon then transfer back to Hanoi with light snack provided en route. Opt to visit a traditional pottery workshop en route. Transfer from to the airport for flight to Danang. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in Hoi An.

Day 5: Hoi An
Remark: The ticket is valid for entry to 5 sightseeing spots in Hoi An including merchant's houses, Japanese bridge, Museum, Pagoda and Congregation Hall for 24 hours; however it is valid for entry to Hoi An town for as long as you are in Hoi An. It is a must, you need to keep that entrance ticket at all times in case you'd like to visit Hoi An later in the evening or the next day in your own free time.

Day 6: Hoi An - Hue
Depart Hoi An for Hue via Hai Van Pass. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Start from your hotel with a 10 minute cyclo ride from your hotel to the Imperial Citadel, a UNESCO listed site. Enter through the towering main gate. From there, driver will pick you up and drive to visit Thien Mu pagoda, Hue's best-preserved religious monument.

Day 7: Hue - Saigon (Flight HUI/SGN VN1375/1620-1740 economy class)
Drive from your hotel to visit the serene Tu Duc Royal Tomb, designed to blend in with its natural surroundings and built on principles of feng-shui and the elaborate Khai Dinh Royal Tomb. Transfer to the airport for flight to Saigon. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.

Day 8: Saigon
Enjoy a 2-hours' drive northwest of Saigon to the famous Cu Chi tunnels. Return to Saigon. Enjoy a city tour to admire Saigon's historic landmarks including the Notre Dame Cathedral, a red brick edifice with twin spires based on the original construction from Paris (it is only possible to visit inside when no service is being performed). Then head across the square to the Central Post Office, designed by the French architect, Gustave Eiffel. Continue your visit with the former Presidential Palace, the headquarters of the Saigon Government during the American war, revealing the history of Saigon during its turbulent recent past. Further, drive to visit the War Remnants Museum for a vivid insight of the American war through the local's eyes (Please note that some of the photos are very graphic).

Day 9: Saigon - Siem Reap (Flight SGN/REP VN3825/1200-1300 economy class)
Transfer from your hotel to the airport for flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.
Drive about 45-minutes to the countryside, stopping en route to visit a local village. Arrive at the quay and board a local boat for a 1.5-hour ride on the Tonle Sap Lake (the best times are from July to February), also known as the Great Lake of Cambodia. Drive back to Siem Reap.

Day 10: Siem Reap
Transfer by private vehicle to Ta Prohm, Drive a short distance to Ta Keo. Continue to Angkor Thom, not a temple, but an entire walled city of 9 sq km and the royal Capital from 1181. Also visit the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King, which houses almost perfectly preserved carvings. Return to your hotel to relax and have lunch (on your own). After a leisurely break your exploration continues as you enter the rear gate of Angkor Wat (early 12th century). Later, return to your hotel late afternoon.

Day 11: Siem Reap
Travel in the morning by car through the countryside to Phnom Kulen and start the rather steep climb up by car. On top of the mountain you will visit a modern style pagoda that offers stunning views over the Angkor area. Visit the eight meter tall statue of a reclining Buddha and wash your hands at the Linga statue to purify your mind and body. Continue to visit the River of One Thousand Lingas and the magnificent waterfall close to it. Take a refreshing swim in the stream and pool of the waterfall and enjoy a picnic lunch served in a natural setting. If time allows, take a stroll around the area with your guide and venture off the beaten track to take in the impressive forest and scenery. Return to Siem Reap in the late afternoon.

Day 12: Siem Reap Departure (Flight to be advised later/own tickets)
Transfer to the airport for flight to the next destination.
