On the Southbound trip, the train departs from Pretoria main train station at 8:30 and arrives in Cape Town train station at 12:00 the following day. En route to Cape Town there is a stopover and excursion in Kimberley, where we take a step back in time to the days of the diamond rush. Please note that there are no parking facilities available at Pretoria Station. Kindly make transfer arrangements. Remember, dinner is an elegant affair and men are requested to wear a jacket and tie and ladies in elegant evening wear. Inclusive of accommodation on The Blue Train, snacks, all applicable meals, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), Cognacs, Cuban Cigars and Blue Train gift. Some areas The Blue Train traverses reach temperatures ranging between -5 to -10 degrees Celsius. These conditions adversely affect the railway lines and as a cautionary & safety measure a speed restriction is in place and the off-train excursion at Kimberly might not be offered. Every effort will however be made available to ensure that the guests enjoy their stay. Please expect an estimated delay by approximately 3 hours longer than the mentioned arrival time.
